These terms are between you and Stichting Le@f, the publisher of AICal. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
They exist in English and Dutch and mean the same thing in both. If the wording differs, the Dutch text applies to consumers in the Netherlands and the English text in all other cases.

AICal's income keeps the app running and lets us keep building apps that really help. We do not show advertising and we do not sell personal data.
2. What AICal is
AICal is a day planner. It shows the day you already have and the open stretches in it, and it helps you put something into that space — in your calendar or as focus time. You can also ask in plain language and get a proposal.
AICal is software that helps you plan. It is not a scheduling service, not a guarantee that a plan is possible, and not a replacement for looking at your own agenda.
3. Your licence to use the app
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the app on the devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, and you may not use it to build a competing product.
The rules of the store you downloaded the app from also apply to your use of it.
4. Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google or an email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that account safe, and for what happens through it. Give us correct information, and tell us if you think someone else has access.
You need one account per person. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. What is removed and what stays is described in the privacy policy.
5. The app stores
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple or Google. Where you downloaded the app through their store, the following applies:
- The store has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. That is our job.
- If the app does not work as this agreement promises, you can tell Apple; Apple may refund the price you paid for it, if any. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- The store is not responsible for claims about the app — including product liability, claims that the app does not meet legal requirements, and claims under consumer protection law.
- If a third party claims the app infringes their rights, we are responsible for dealing with that claim, not the store.
- You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo, that you are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties, and that you do not use the app in violation of export rules.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you. Google Play's own terms apply to purchases made there.
6. Free use and optional paid features
The core of AICal is free to use, without advertising. The AI features work inside a daily limit, which protects the service from misuse and keeps the costs manageable.
If you want more than the daily limit, we may offer optional paid extras: individual packs of AI requests, and a subscription that includes a monthly amount of them. What a pack or subscription includes, and what it costs, is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you pay — that is the price that applies, and it can differ per country.
You decide yourself whether you buy anything. The free part keeps working if you do not.
We may change what is free and what is paid, and we may stop offering a product. We will not change what you already paid for, and we will tell you in good time before a change affects a subscription that is running.
7. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds
Who you pay. Payments run through Apple or Google; they are the seller of the purchase. We never see your card details. Their payment terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.
One-off purchases are paid once and do not renew.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. The store shows the period and the price before you confirm. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.
Cancelling. You cancel in the store, not with us:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AICal → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → AICal → Cancel.
Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting your AICal account does not cancel a subscription — that has to happen in the store.
Refunds. Refund requests go through the store that took the payment: Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (Play Help).
Consumers in the EU/EEA. You have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days. Where you asked for immediate access and confirmed that you lose that right, the withdrawal right ends when the content is delivered — Apple and Google ask for that confirmation in their own checkout. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you, and you can always use the store's refund route. For the Netherlands the statutory rules on distance selling apply.
8. AI features and their limits
Ask turns the sentence you type into a structured planning request. The calendar is not sent along; only the sentence is, and only after you tap Agree. What is sent and what is kept is described in the privacy policy.
AI makes mistakes. A proposal can be wrong, incomplete or based on a wrong reading of what you asked. Check it before you accept it. We keep the last word with you: nothing enters your calendar without your confirmation.
We may apply limits to keep the service available and affordable for everyone, and we may block use that looks like abuse or automated misuse.
9. Your calendar
AICal only reads your calendar after you give permission, and only on your device. Blocks are written only after you confirm them, in a calendar named AICal (in iCloud where available, otherwise on your device). You stay responsible for your own agenda: for what is in it, for double bookings, and for what you do with the blocks AICal adds.
Keep your own backups of anything you cannot lose. You can undo everything AICal added by deleting the calendar “AICal” on your device. We cannot change your calendar from our side — we never receive it.
10. Acceptable use
Use AICal the way it is meant to be used. You may not:
- break the law with it, or use it to harm or mislead others;
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or try to extract the source code, except where the law says you may;
- circumvent the daily limit, the AI limits, or any technical protection;
- use automated scripts, scraping or bulk requests against our service;
- resell the app or access to it, or offer it as your own product;
- upload or send content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
If you break these rules in a serious way, we may suspend or end your access.
11. Your content and your feedback
What you type and what is in your calendar stay yours. We only process what we need to run the app, as described in the privacy policy. Calendar contents never reach us.
If you send us an idea or feedback, we may use it to improve AICal without owing you anything for it. If you send us an email, we may answer you by email.
12. Our intellectual property
The app, the name AICal, the design, the texts and the icons belong to Stichting Le@f or its licensors. These terms give you a right to use the app, not ownership of it.
13. Availability, changes and support
We work on AICal continuously and we may add, change or remove features. We do not promise that the app is always available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may take it offline for maintenance or because a supplier is unavailable.
Support: desk@ai-cal.com. We aim to answer within one working day. Where we can, we fix a serious problem within a reasonable time.
14. No professional advice
AICal helps you plan your time. It does not give medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and nothing it suggests should be treated as such. If your planning has to do with your health, your work obligations or anything else where a mistake is costly, check with a professional or with the people involved.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do everything we reasonably can, but we cannot promise that AICal will meet every expectation, work on every device, or be free of mistakes.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, this does not affect your statutory rights. In the Netherlands the rules on conformity (Book 7 of the Dutch Civil Code) apply: if the app does not do what you may expect from it, you are entitled to a solution, and where relevant to a price reduction or ending the agreement. In the United States, we do not exclude warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
16. Limitation of liability
We are liable for damage that we cause by not doing what these terms say, up to the limits below. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or deliberate misconduct;
- anything else that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
For the rest, our liability for direct damage is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the damage occurred (or, if you have paid nothing, to €50). We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost time, missed appointments, lost profit or lost data — please keep your own backups of your calendar.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, this clause does not limit the rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including the conformity rules mentioned above.
17. Suspension and termination
You can stop using AICal at any time, and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these terms, if we must for legal reasons, or if we stop offering the app. If we end the agreement without you being at fault, you can ask for a refund for the part of a paid period you have not used yet.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands.
Consumers in the EU/EEA. You keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a case before the court of your own country. We prefer to solve things by talking first: mail desk@ai-cal.com and we will look at it with you.
United States. Nothing in these terms requires you to give up a right that cannot be waived under the law of your state, including rights under consumer protection and privacy law. We do not require you to arbitrate.
For everyone: complaints about privacy go to privacy@stichtingleaf.nl — see the privacy policy for the supervisory authority you can turn to.
19. Changes to these terms
The date at the top tells you when these terms last changed. If we change something that matters for you, we announce it in the app or by email before it takes effect, unless the law or a store requires something faster. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, stop using the app and delete your account.
20. General
If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. These terms, together with the privacy policy and the rules of your app store, are the whole agreement between us about the app. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else; we may transfer ours if we restructure the foundation, and we will tell you if we do.
